For the last few years now whenever someone asks my mom what she wants as a gift for a holiday or special occasion she says "make me something" so I made her a messenger bag for Christmas and for her birthday I made her an apron and for Mother’s Day I am making her a Quilt. I have been spending my evenings sewing 1.5 inch strip together in eights and then cutting those long strips of eight different fabrics into 8.5 inch squares and now I will sew them all together and then add batting and a back hopefully all in time for Mothers Day. It won’t actually be quilted until my birthday when I get my new quilting/sewing machine. The machine I have now does not have pretty quilting patterns so I have asked everyone in my family to pitch in to get me a nice sewing/quilting machine. I CANT WAIT!!!

Brian got me an awesome machine and I have totally been slacking! We can have quilting parties!!!
that's crazy. i love it. can't wait to see how you finish it. my aunt just found a quilt top that my great grandma sewed before she died...she just didn't get the chance to finish it. so now it's my job. i'm excited...it should be really cool.
