MOMS QUILT

For the last few years now whenever someone asks my mom what she wants as a gift for a holiday or special occasion she says "make me something" so I made her a messenger bag for Christmas and for her birthday I made her an apron and for Mother’s Day I am making her a Quilt. I have been spending my evenings sewing 1.5 inch strip together in eights and then cutting those long strips of eight different fabrics into 8.5 inch squares and now I will sew them all together and then add batting and a back hopefully all in time for Mothers Day. It won’t actually be quilted until my birthday when I get my new quilting/sewing machine. The machine I have now does not have pretty quilting patterns so I have asked everyone in my family to pitch in to get me a nice sewing/quilting machine. I CANT WAIT!!!

MY FIRST QUILT

this might not be the cutest quilt around but its a quilt... well the top to one. I went through all my old craft stuff last weekend and found a bunch of old yellow fabric that was too small to make anything out of so I decided to make a baby blanket. I have plans to make a big pretty quilt for my mom for MOTHERS DAY. I will post pictures if that really happend :)

SPRING IS HERE

there are so many things that make Spring time my Favorite time of the year. I love all the colorful flower and the birds chirping, I love the sound and smell of people mowing the lawn, I love hearing kids play during my evening walks with Geoff and Raisa, I love to watch my Dog pounce around the yard trying to catch birds and squirrels. I could go on forever about the things that I love about spring but I will stop there and post some pictures that I took last week.

OH and EASTER did I mention how much I love Easter!
here are some pictures from this years Easter with the Perez side of the family.

SPRING BREAK

During my little break from work I decided make our front room look a Little less bare, so I paint a wall and hung a picture. Now all we need is an area rug and the room will be done. They pretty much call me the queen of home improvements :)

Before

After

There is not much of a difference but it was fun :) and it kept me busy for a day.

My next project is to make our Kitchen look nice.... or at least get rid of all the brown.

Not a great picture of Geoff, but its the only one I have of the kitchen and I cant find my camera :) Oh and I made that apron over the break :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KACIE!

My best friend Kacie turned 28 on the 1st of April. She had a wine party to celebrate this weekend and I was not able to make it :(

Cheers Kacie...

I hope all your wishes and dreams come true this year ;)

Miami In March

I got to see my grandma this march for the first time in almost three years. She wont fly, and I can never seem to find the time to make it over there. Mima is in her 80's so getting around isn't as easy as it once was for her. even more now that she has a broken ankle that doesn't seem to want to heal.

After the visit I promised her that I would try and make it down there at least once a year.

during my visit to Florida I had the opportunity to go to the keys and spend a few nights at my uncles house down there with him and my dad. One of the days a bunch of cousins and aunts came to spend the day by the pool and on the boat. It was really nice to see everyone.

The nights on the patio were so nice, I sat and read my book while enjoying the sunset and the cool breeze .

some times old people make my day...

Today at work an old man came in and made my day. When he drove up I remembered him from the last time he was in and couldn't help but smile. I don't remember many customers but I remembered him. I think the reason I remembered him was becuase hes really stinky and scruffy and wears old dirt overalls but drives a nice clean mercedes sports car and is the kindest old man I have every met.(besides my own two grandparents of course). this morning he came in to chat and I helped him fix a flashlight so he gave my a tip for my "kindness". Later this afternoon he came in again to buy some triple A batteries and to make sure I was still having a good day. when I told him "it was slow and that I was ready to go home" he said " you must be in need of a few jokes" so here they are....

"what did the Indan say when the dog fell of the cliff?"
- DOG GONE

"What did the fish say when he swam into the wall?"
-DAM

"Why don't the dinosaurs talk?"
-Because they are dead

HA HA HA I love old people.

So far this winter has been great, we have had very little rain and a lot of snow.

In December we went three full weeks without seeing the grass in our backyard. The first snow fall was about 6 inches that never melted so when it dumped a foot over the next weekend we measured 18 inches in our back yard. By the time the snow stopped falling we measured 26inches in our back yard.
While Raisa loved all the snow it took her a bit to figure out where to go to the bathroom, she also had a hard time finding the Kong after we would throw it to her. It was pretty cute.

Geoff and I really enjoyed playing in all the snow over the weekends, we went sledding and had a bonfire with some good friends, rode our quads, and went snow shoeing to the grocery store.

It's now been 2 and a half years since I first started this blog and I am just now posting for the first time. I don't know how good I will be at it but I am going to try my hardest to keep everyone up to date on whats been going on in the live of the Jarman's.

Geoff and I have been married for 2 and a half years now... (notice the length of time I have had this blog and how long we have been married. My intention was to start after the honeymoon, I guess I got a little behind on posting :) ) We bought a house right before we got married and are always finding new projects to do around the house to make it a house we enjoy living in. Some of the things we did the first week after we got the keys were, flooring, paint and bedroom furniture. Geoff and his brother pulled up the teal carpeting and laid new flooring while Kacie, Eryn and Megan painted over the lime green walls (I was at work). recently Geoff and i made the laundry room look more like the rest of the house by painting over the drywall and sealing the floor with epoxy. we got an electric fireplace for the back room (converted garage) and we are going to get a new big screen to put up on the wall so that we can make it into a game room. after that is all done we are going to get new carpet in the bedrooms and then if I get what I want we will re-do the Kitchen and then new siding on the house

Besides working on the house we have been keeping ourselves very busy with work. I am working for the family business and Geoff is teaching science at St. Helen's High School. He just got the job as Head Wrestling coach after being an assistant for 6 years. He also coaches football in the fall and golf in the spring.

now that everyone is caught up on us I will try to keep this up to date.
