Pictures of my not so little little man

Friday, July 23, 2010

I know this is really old news but.... GRAYSON LANE JARMAN is here! He was born on May 11th at 1:50 PM. He was 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 22 inches long. Geoff and I could not be happier with our little man.
The short version of the story goes something liek this.....

On Monday the 10th of May I went into labor right after I got home from work, after two quick hours my contractions went from 30 minutes apart to 4 so we called the hospital and headed in at about 7:30 PM. When I got there I was only 1cm(that was being generous)so they gave me an hour to see if anything happened and if not they were going to send me home. after an hour and nothing happened... UGH! We did however talke the nurse into letting us stay one more hour to see if I would progress anymore. At that point I was having rolling contractions that weren't letting up so I didnt think I would be able to handle them at home or on the 35 min car drive home. Plus if the contrations were already less than one minute apart how would we know when to head back.?. after the second hour there I was almost 2cm so they told us we were "keepers".
After many hours of laying, walking, bathing, breathing....hard, 16 hours to be exact I was told it was time to push. I started to push at 12:00 PM and at 1:50 our little man was born.

I am 38 and a half weeks and I am HUGE. I have 6 days of work and then the waiting game begins. The doctor seems to think Geoff and I will be waiting a while because this little boy hasn’t decided to come out from behind my ribs and my cervix hasn’t started to thin or dilate. I know this could all happen overnight but at this point it looks like he is enjoying his time and doesn’t have any plans to come meet the rest of the world.

Geoff and I were lucky enough to get tickets to go to game 6 of the playoffs. Its too bad that the blazers lost, but it was a fun game and knowing its probably one of our last big events before baby boy gets here made it that much more enjoyable.

here are the boys happy to be at the game with such great tickets

RUDY

Not so happy at the end of the game :(
it is so fun to know so many women who are pregnant at the same time as myself.

I am can't wait for all the babies to be born so we can have baby-palooza :)

Katie and I are 8 days apart and so are our due dates

This year I had a pretty relaxing New Years Eve. I worked and then went home to an empty house and watched the move julie and julia. Geoff on the other hand did not have a relaxing New Years Eve,he was in LA for the Rose Bowl. This year my dad took "the boys" to watch the ducks play in the Rose Bowl. They got to LA early on the 31st and hung out before heading out on the town for dinner and drinks Mortons in Beverly Hills.

To my surprise the boys went to bed before midnight so that they were nice and rested for the "Big Game" the next day.

Although the ducks lost the guys had a great time at the game and tailgating with great friends.

It was a short trip but one I am sure the boys will never forget.

MOMS QUILT

For the last few years now whenever someone asks my mom what she wants as a gift for a holiday or special occasion she says "make me something" so I made her a messenger bag for Christmas and for her birthday I made her an apron and for Mother’s Day I am making her a Quilt. I have been spending my evenings sewing 1.5 inch strip together in eights and then cutting those long strips of eight different fabrics into 8.5 inch squares and now I will sew them all together and then add batting and a back hopefully all in time for Mothers Day. It won’t actually be quilted until my birthday when I get my new quilting/sewing machine. The machine I have now does not have pretty quilting patterns so I have asked everyone in my family to pitch in to get me a nice sewing/quilting machine. I CANT WAIT!!!

MY FIRST QUILT

this might not be the cutest quilt around but its a quilt... well the top to one. I went through all my old craft stuff last weekend and found a bunch of old yellow fabric that was too small to make anything out of so I decided to make a baby blanket. I have plans to make a big pretty quilt for my mom for MOTHERS DAY. I will post pictures if that really happend :)

SPRING IS HERE

there are so many things that make Spring time my Favorite time of the year. I love all the colorful flower and the birds chirping, I love the sound and smell of people mowing the lawn, I love hearing kids play during my evening walks with Geoff and Raisa, I love to watch my Dog pounce around the yard trying to catch birds and squirrels. I could go on forever about the things that I love about spring but I will stop there and post some pictures that I took last week.

OH and EASTER did I mention how much I love Easter!
here are some pictures from this years Easter with the Perez side of the family.

SPRING BREAK

During my little break from work I decided make our front room look a Little less bare, so I paint a wall and hung a picture. Now all we need is an area rug and the room will be done. They pretty much call me the queen of home improvements :)

Before

After

There is not much of a difference but it was fun :) and it kept me busy for a day.

My next project is to make our Kitchen look nice.... or at least get rid of all the brown.

Not a great picture of Geoff, but its the only one I have of the kitchen and I cant find my camera :) Oh and I made that apron over the break :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KACIE!

My best friend Kacie turned 28 on the 1st of April. She had a wine party to celebrate this weekend and I was not able to make it :(

Cheers Kacie...

I hope all your wishes and dreams come true this year ;)

Miami In March

I got to see my grandma this march for the first time in almost three years. She wont fly, and I can never seem to find the time to make it over there. Mima is in her 80's so getting around isn't as easy as it once was for her. even more now that she has a broken ankle that doesn't seem to want to heal.

After the visit I promised her that I would try and make it down there at least once a year.

during my visit to Florida I had the opportunity to go to the keys and spend a few nights at my uncles house down there with him and my dad. One of the days a bunch of cousins and aunts came to spend the day by the pool and on the boat. It was really nice to see everyone.

The nights on the patio were so nice, I sat and read my book while enjoying the sunset and the cool breeze .
